The entire time I was lamenting the absence of data from Google Maps/Earth for the countries of Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan I was completely missing the fact that Microsoft Live Maps has beautiful coverage of the entire region. While there is a lack of high res imagery for most of the cities outside of Tbilisi the road and city data is incredibly good with even the smallest towns and villages visible. I owe an apology to the Microsoft Live Maps team for missing their good work. If you are headed to Georgia be sure to check out Microsoft Live Maps of the country.
